About Us

Who We Are

Our team of doctors uses a hands-on approach to spinal adjustments.  Our techniques include Diversified, Pettibon, Palmer, CBP, Activator, and Upper Cervical.  With these techniques we can diversify our treatment methods to best suit each patient.

We are Certified in the treatment of Sports Injuries, Auto Accident, Workers Comp, and Extremity Injuries.

The health of your spine and its joints is regulated by motion.  Injuries and repetitive stresses cause inflammation and scar tissue to build up, decreasing this motion.  Spinal and Extremity adjustments break up this inflammation and scar tissue, allowing the spine and its joints to return to good health.

The nervous system controls every single function of the body.  There are over 12 miles of nerves in the human body, and only 10 percent of those nerves perceive pain.

Posture Analysis is a way to look at the nervous system and see where the problems of nerve function are occuring.  Posture Analysis is done throughout the course of care. Treatment of postural and nervous system function problems is done on each visit.

Postural Treatment is a course of care that incorporates Mirror Image Adjusting and Mirror Image Physical Therapy.  These treatments over time create a more natural posture, relieving the tension and stresses put on the nervous system through work, stress, and physical traumas.

Myofascial-Release technique incorporates active and passive range of motion while stripping down a muscle with continuous pressure.  This treatment lengthens muscle tissue, while breaking up and releasing scar tissue in the body.  The outcome of this treatment is a decrease in pain, stiffness, numbness, tingling, soreness, and a number of other symptoms.  Chronic, problematic conditions clear up after 2 to 3 treatments of Myofascial-Release Technique.

We have had amazing results with many conditions including:

  • Headache
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Adhesive Capsulitis
  • ITB Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Shoulder Problems
  • Plantar Faschitis
  • and many others

Often times injuries and repetitive stresses will cause muscle imbalances, tight muscles, and pain.

Through specific examinations and evaluations we will discover which muscle groups are atrophied and weak and which muscle groups are tight and over-worked.  Specific in-house stretching and strengthening of these muscle groups as well as at-home exercises will correct these imbalances and lead to greater flexibility and strength.

A cervical traction device is one that slowly lengthens the neck, allowing the tissues to become longer by mechanically stretching them.  Our cervical traction device extends the neck as well as lengthens the neck, creating a more natural, normal cervical curve.

Another common postural problem is that of hip rotation.  Hip rotation will cause a number of problems including a functional short leg.  Over time these symptoms will grow into chronic pain, muscle imbalances, stiffness, and weakness.  Our doctors address this hip rotation with spinal adjustments first.  For chronic, long standing hip rotations we additionally use the procedure of pelvic blocking.

Pelvic blocking is the procedure of using a wedge-shaped device that slides between the patient and the table creating a wedge that effectively forces one hip back while forcing the other hip forward.  This application of a slow stretch acts more directly on the soft tissues such as tight and fibrotic muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

In an acute situation, electric Stimulation provides a way to "pump" an area without physical motion in order to push the swelling out of the area and allow healing agents to enter.  This will decrease the amount of time it takes to heal.

Another benefit of Electric Stimulation is that it has the ability to block the pain receptor pathways.  All pain is perceived through the nervous system.  The nervous system functions through the use of electrical impulses.  These electric impulses of pain can be "short circuited" through the use of Electric Stimulation.

Electric Stimulation can be used to contract a muscle to keep its tonicity and decrease the effects of atrophy.  This can be done without actually flexing the muscle, therefore keeping pain levels to a minimum and decreasing recovery time.

Massage Therapy is critical in treating soft tissue injuries and conditions.  Massage therapy allows muscles to relax, as well as the person being treated to relax and reduce their stress levels.  There are many different techniques of massage therapy.  The Rae Chiropractic Team offers:

  • Swedish massage for relaxation and stress reduction
  • Connective Tissue massage for the break up of adhesed tissues
  • Trigger Point therapy for the reduction of active and latent trigger points
  • Reflexology for the treatment of the feet
